She recently spoke to Fairygodbabo about why the people and culture at Ultimate Software which she describes as a safe environment that encourages people to be innovative and learn from their mistakes are unparalleled.Ultimate Software is Hiring Now Browse Opportunities.How long have you been in your current role, and what were you doing previously?I have been in my current role for four years, and before that, I welches a senior Business Analyst at Ultimate.Whats the first thing you do at work every day?The first thing I do every day is to check my emails at a high level to ensure there isnt an urgent task that I need to address right away.Whats the most unique or interesting aspect of your job?What I find most interesting is working with my team every single day. Being present and available fo r them is very important to me.Whats something you think most people (perhaps even current employees) dont know about Ultimate Software that you think they should?I believe most people know Ultimate Software very well, but what is usually a big impact for all new people who join our Ulti-family is how friendly everybody is. All of the great things they have heard about the company are real.Whats something youre especially good at work?Caring about my team and everyone around me, but also having the technical knowledge of being in their shoes before I became a manager.What are you trying to improve on?I am always trying to improve on my work-life balance to ensure I am spending enough time with my family. However, I am fortunate that I am able to work from home when needed, so I am very happy about that.Whats the one career move youve made that youre most proud of?Moving from my previous job to Ultimate Software. I was very attached and happy with my previous job, co-workers and mana ger however, I was getting home very late due to the long commute. It was a very thoughtful decision to leave my previous job ten years ago, but I am very proud and happy that I was able to make that decision because thats how I was able to find the wonderful opportunity to work at Ultimate Software.What do you love most about Ultimate Software?I love the people and culture here. It is a very safe environment that encourages people to be innovative and learn from their mistakes. There are also plenty of opportunities to grow and learn to progress in your career path.Whats your 1 piece of advice for women who are looking for jobs right now?Always be yourself and dream big. I also love these three main values that are keys for success Being humble, hungry and smart.Who is/was the most influential rolle in your life and why?My father. He always pushed me to do my best even when I thought that I was not going to be able to make it. I came to the United States when I was 19 years old, an d the beginning was very hard without knowing English. I thought that I wasnt going to be able to complete a bachelors degree or find a good job however, with the great support that I received from my parents, I was able to tischset personal goals and accomplish them successfully.What was the best quality of the best boss youve ever had?My boss was able to see the potential in me that I was not able to see. Thanks to my manager, I am where I am today.
